'Radio station Echo Moskvy reported Friday that Litvinenko converted to Islam. Litvinenko, it said, was read the Yasin surah, or prayer, and given Islamic death rites by an imam invited to the dying spy's hospital bedside. Ekho, a prominent liberal broadcaster funded by state-owned gas monopoly Gazprom, said Litvinenko would be buried in a Muslim cemetery in London. The station cited Chechenpress, the official news agency of the wartorn republic's insurgency. A statement dictated by Litvinenko two days before his death and read by friends on Friday said nothing about a conversion to Islam.' (source)

Alexander Litvinenko, speaking in April 15, 2004: "I consider the war continuing in Chechnya as a crime. In 1997, a peace agreement was concluded between Russia and Chechnya. Thus, Russia recognized the independence of Chechnya de jure and de facto. Being a FSB officer, I was at war in Chechnya during the first war. But I am convinced: peace treaties should be observed. Aslan Maskhadov is the legally elected president of Chechnya, and the president Putin who began the second Chechen war is a criminal." (source)

This is indeed important news, UKDP. Did you also see that they thought it might have been suicide?
The possibility he committed suicide brings up this question: From whom did he receive the Polonium 210?
Also, I heard Livinenko had ties to Sudan. Does anyone know if this is true?
I hope people in London realize that once he is buried to the ground, his poison will be leaking to the soil, therefore poisoning it and water supplies, etc.
Polonium 210 has rather short half-life, so poisoning anything outside the grave is unlikely. Mr L's conversion to Islam is suspicious, as are most imams in London.
What's so suspicious about converting to Islam? Islam has seen the fastest conversion in recent years. So this is nothing new. Please let the dying man believes in anything he would like to in his faith before he meets God, its his personal relationship with God. Not yours.
There's nothing suspicious whatsoever about converting to Islam. The suspicion is as a result of his links with Chechen fundamentalists.
whats so suspicious?
That he was a Muslim and not in the negative spotlight in the Media?
Seriously, the nerve of some people.
listen people u lot can believ that his converting is suspicous but let me say firstly he has reverted back to islam
as everyone is born a muslim this is scientifically proven that wen one is born and if he/she was to be left alone till they reacha mature age and no one has influence over them watsoevr then they would believe in one true god. so islam is beleiving in one god alone and associating no partners with him. this is unlike "modern" christainity may i say as "true"(people who followed the original bible way b4 islam not the one today whihc has been altered by man) christians believe jesus was a messenger as do muslims NOT THE SON OF GOD.
I think there is nothing suspiicious about converting to Islam, that unless you actually is indoctrinated by the media to think Islam is a suspicious religion!
Islam is the last true Religion of god whom he promised to keep uncorrupted for those who might have souls to believe.
I deleted your previous comments because you were preaching. I deleted your last comment because now you're getting boring.
