Tories: Hug the BNP, Not Hoodies

"Cameron should stop hugging hoodies and start understanding the BNP. I just feel uncomfortable when the middle-classes talk of the BNP like lepers."

That's Tory blogger Iznewmania, Vice Chairman of Islington Conservative association, urging his party leadership to 'understand' the BNP's philosophy.

And here's the BNP explaining their membership policy:

"Why don't you let blacks and Asians into the BNP?"

"For the same reason the Girl Guides don't allow boys to join. Does that mean they are sexist? Does it mean they hate boys? Of course not, it's just that their aim is to cater for the interests of girls, and similarly the BNP isn't racist, but our purpose is to cater for the interests of the indigenous British population."

I wonder how Mr Newman's association will respond to this?

It's certainly a strange thing for an Association Vice Chairman to say. Maybe he's as angry as most of us on the right are about Labour's incompetence in dealing with immigration and asylum. But 'understanding' the BNP isn't the answer.

I think the BNP are example of when we need to understand less and condemn a bit more - as your mate John Major used to say.

John Major?! Maggie Thatcher more like.

UK Daily Pundit:

You dropped round to a post I wrote at A Tangled Web the other day to comment on the BNP, so now I'm returning the compliment.

You would, presumably, agree with me that immigration is out of control. Perhaps you might also agree that British culture is being continually assaulted and undermined. And maybe, that this country faces a serious problem with violent crime - much of it committed by immigrants. You might also agree that taxes should be cut. Possibly - and I make no assumptions - you are also opposed to selling out our national sovereignty to the EU.

All of these are issues that the BNP would actually deal with. By contrast, the Tories seem more concerned with hugging hoodies, grandstanding over the environment, and generally attempting to be the most liberal of all the three main parties. It seems extremely unlikely that they would actually do anything about any of these problems.

So, I ask you, what do you suggest I, or anyone else who actually gives a damn about the future of this country, does? Why should the country be allowed to go to Hell simply because the only party that seems interested in saving it has a racial restriction on membership?

“British culture is being continually assaulted and undermined”

Black and ethnic minority communities are as much a part of British culture as the Flag of St George and the Union Jack. Why does the BNP want to undermine that?

Not that Daily Pundit needs any support (or would even welcome any from me) but I am with him completley on this. British culture is based on values and principles not on colour or racial origin.

You have wearyingly taken this entirely out of context.I am not a racist and I do ot supprt the BNP I do on the other hand understand why some working clas voters might feel they had no choice.

Similiar views have been expressed in the Sun and the NewStatesman. I really think it is pretty poor to wander about Conservative Blogs looking for words that if shorn of the context can be turned into lies.

Do you want to kill off debate .

I think so

You might not be a racist but one thing's for sure - you're definitely a clown. And it's because of Tory clowns like you that at the next general election we'll be lumbered with another 5 years of Labour.
