Liam Fox pounces over Tory defence cuts

'Asked what he thought about Mr Lansley's comments, he told The Sunday Telegraph: "I just think it is a timely reminder of the need to be very disciplined and careful when discussing any spending plans."

'Andrew Lansley was plainly uneasy, questioned this morning on his Times front-page "commitment" to an extra 2 per cent of GDP in health spending."I have made no public spending commitment", he insisted on air - clearly mindful the leadership will likely look askance at his treading on George Osborne's toes.'
